Another Day Of Zero Visibility In UP, Weather Likely To Worsen As IMD Issues Rain Alert For Several Districts


UP Weather Today: Uttar Pradesh is not out of the clutches of the biting cold and dense fog. The weather is likely to worsen from Saturday with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a rain alert for 38 districts for two days. This will further drop in the temperature. Noida, Ghaziabad, Agra, and several other cities are likely to receive heavy rain. The temperature could drop further on Monday.

According to the IMD, there may be rain with thundershowers in some places in western UP and some places in eastern UP on Saturday. At the same time, there is a possibility of light to moderate fog in some places at night and in the morning. There is also a possibility of lightning in some places. Similar weather is expected on Sunday as well. The weather will remain dry from January 13. But the temperature may drop by 2-4 degrees Celsius.

Rain In Noida-Ghaziabad

The Noida-Greater Noida-Ghaziabad region started the day off with zero visibility for the second consecutive day on Wednesday. Similar conditions were seen in Kannauj, Bulandshahr, and other parts of UP. A rain alert with lightning has been issued in Noida, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Sambhal, Aligarh, Mathura, Badaun, Kasganj, Etah, Hathras, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Hardoi, Kannauj, Oraiya, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Rae Bareli, Kanpur, Lucknow, Barabanki, Unnao, and Fatehpur in the state on Saturday, January 11.

The temperature in the state has dropped amid the cold and the possibility of rain. Ayodhya and Chhur were the coldest on Friday. The minimum temperature here reached 4 degrees Celsius. A sharp increase in the cold was seen in Kanpur, where the minimum temperature was 4.5 degrees Celsius, the capital Lucknow and Barabanki 5.4, Sultanpur 5, Meerut 5.2, Bareilly 5.3, and the minimum temperature in Moradabad was 6 degrees.   

Amidst the severe cold, CM Yogi also advised people to avoid the cold and instructed the administration to ensure that no person without a home should spend the night out in the open.
