A video of a man beating up a bank manager in Gujarat allegedly over a TDS deduction in his fixed deposit has gone viral on social media. The video is reportedly from a Union Bank branch in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.Â

The branch manager, Saurabh Singh, alleged in his complaint that the customer visited the bank to inquire about TDS deductions on his fixed deposit interest on December 5, Gujarat Samachar reported. Despite receiving a detailed explanation about the refund process, the man allegedly became angry and accused the bank of fraud. In the video, other bank employees were seen trying to get the angry customer away from the manager.
He then reportedly pulled out Singh’s ID card, grabbed his shirt, and tore it. When another bank employee, Shubham Jain intervened to defuse the situation, Raval slapped him and tore his shirt too. The bank manager called the police after efforts to calm down the customer failed. The man has been arrested and a probe is on, a police officer said.

However, the man later claimed that the Facebook video was edited to make it viral instead of showing his family’s perspective. He explained that the altercation began when he was helping his wheelchair-bound brother out of the lift.
The man admitted that he got angry due to the other party’s inconsiderate behaviour and that he had a similar experience when taking the lift with his wheelchair-bound brother.
