Finfluencer’s Outrageous Comments Attract Cop Action. VIDEO

Financial influencer or ‘finfluencer’ Abhishek Kar has landed in trouble with the Assam Police for spreading misinformation about Assam in a podcast. Kar’s comments earned him the wrath of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who ordered legal action against him.

Assam DGP GP Singh has assured that legal action will be pursued against Abhishek Kar for spreading misinformation about Assam. The action against the ‘finfluencer’ was ordered after a clip of the podcast went viral. Ordering action against the social media personality, the Assam Chief Minister’s Office posted on X: “A video from a YouTube channel named Riya Upreti is in circulation where an individual named Abhishek Kar is seen making unacceptable comments on Assam’s history and traditions. Appropriate action may be initiated against the said individual for spreading misinformation.”

What Did Abhishek Kar Say?

Kar during a podcast on entrepreneur Riya Upreti’s channel, Abhishek Kar claimed that there exists a village in Assam where women turn men into goats or other animals. What followed was even more shocking. “There’s a village in Assam where women can turn men into goats or other animals. At night they turn you back into men and engage in sambhog (physical relations) with them… They have such power.”

He was talking about Assam’s Mayong in Morigaon district, which is known for its mystic practices and tales of “magic”. However, the “magic” and mysticism are more about traditional medicines and cures for ailments. A museum set up by locals in Mayong details the practices followed in the village.

However, to lend credibility to his sensational claim, Abhishek Kar even suggested people should “Google” about the same.
