R Ashwin Retirement: Ravichandran Ashwin announced retirement from international cricket on December 18 (Wednesday). The 38-year-old spinner’s announcement came after the end of the India vs Australia 3rd Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. Ashwin, alongside skipper Rohit Sharma, attended the press conference to announce the decision publicly. A key figure in Indian cricket, Ashwin has featured in 106 Tests, 116 ODIs, and 65 T20Is, amassing 3,503 runs and claiming 537 wickets in Test cricket.
Ashwin is expected to continue playing the T20 tournaments and represent Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2025.
