A car was set on fire after a man recklessly burst firecrackers through its sunroof during a wedding celebration in Uttar Pradesh’s Sahranpur. The video has now gone viral on social media.
The incident reportedly took place in Gandevada village under Fatehpur police station area on Friday, November 22, when the groom’s procession was leaving for Dehradun at night.
In the video, the man can be seen shooting fireworks during the celebrations, through the sunroof of the decorated private vehicle, which was part of a wedding convoy. At forst the video looked like just another celebration, but soon things took a dramatic turn as the car went up in flames after the sparks from the crackers rose up in the air and landed on the it.
According to media reports, the car had boxes of firecrackers inside it, which caught fire after sparks reached inside the car.
Most of the local residents ran for safety, but one of them went towards the car to try and help the person out. However, he had already rushed out to safety. Passersby also saw the car on fire and fortuantely most of them escaped unhurt.

According to Free Press Journal, two people, including the person bursting crackers, sustained injuries in the incident. They were rescued by the groom’s brother and taken for medical treatment.
The vehicle was also gutted in the fire. The police later seized it and imposed a fine on the accused for his carelessness.
Last month, a similar incident took place in Chandigarh when firecrackers were set off from the roof of a private vehicle, prompting police to take action against the accused.
Several such videos of young men bursting firecrackers from the roofs of moving cars in Gurugram also surfaced on social media during Diwali last year.
