Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya Says Mahatama Gandhi Was ‘Father of Pakistan’

Abhijeet Bhattacharya has once again made headlines, this time for controversial statements about Mahatma Gandhi. In a recent podcast, the singer compared legendary music composer R.D. Burman to Gandhi and also called him “father of Pakistan.”

Abhijeet calls Gandhi Father of Pakistan

Speaking on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast, Abhijeet said, “Music composer R.D. Burman was bigger than Mahatma Gandhi. Like Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation, R.D. Burman was the father of the nation in the world of music.”

The singer did not stop there. He made further contentious claims, stating, “Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation for Pakistan, not India. India already existed, Pakistan was carved out of India later. Gandhi has been mistakenly called the father of the nation for India. He was the one responsible behind the existence of Pakistan.”

Connection with R.D. Burman

Abhijeet’s admiration for R.D. Burman stems from his early career when the legendary composer launched him in a Bengali film with a duet alongside Asha Bhosle. During the initial phase of his singing journey, Abhijeet performed on stage with Burman, building a connection that influenced his musical career.
