Following a heavy 295-run loss in the series opener, Australia bounced back strongly, dominating all three departments to secure a comprehensive 10-wicket victory in the day-night Test. After conceding a 157-run lead in the second innings, India were dismissed for just 175 runs in the third innings, setting a modest target of 19 runs, which Australia chased down in only 3.2 overs.
While Travis Head continued his run-scoring affair with India with a scintillating 140-run knock, Mitchell Starc was outstanding with the ball in the first innings for Australia, taking 6 wickets for 48 runs. In the third innings, Australian captain Pat Cummins delivered a match-winning performance, claiming 5 wickets for 57 runs. The Aussie pace trio of Starc, Cummins, and Scott Boland shared all 20 of India’s wickets in the match.

Travis Head & Pacers Hand Australia An Easy Win
Continuing from the overnight score of 128-5, India lost Rishabh Pant in the very first over of Day 3 as Starc got the left-handed Indian batter to nick one behind to Steve Smith at slips. Nitish Reddy and R Ashwin looked like building a small partnership before Cummins unleashed a barrage of short balls at Ashwin, successfully getting him out for just seven runs. Cummins continued his short-ball tactics and dismissed Harshit Rana and Reddy while Boland got rid of India’s last wicket in Mohammad Siraj. India were bowled out for just 175 runs, setting the target of just 19 runs. Australia openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney made light work of the short chase and guided Australia home in just 3.1 overs.
Travis Head was adjudged the Player of the Match for his match-winning innings of 140 runs.
