Marvel Studios’ blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine has taken the streaming world by storm, racking up 19.4 million global views within six days of its November 12 release on Disney+. According to Disney, this feat makes it the most-watched live-action title on Disney+ and Hulu since Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in early 2023.
The movie, which premiered in theatres in July, marks the Ryan Reynolds-played superhero’s highly-anticipated debut as Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It also welcomed back Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, reprising the iconic role he last played in Logan (2017). The film follows Deadpool as he uncovers a sinister plan by the Time Variance Authority to erase his universe, prompting an unlikely alliance with a multiverse version of Wolverine to save the day.
Only Animated Movies Top Deadpool & Wolverine
Disney’s unique metric for views, dividing total streaming hours by the runtime, places Deadpool & Wolverine among the platform’s standout performers. It follows only animated hits like Inside Out 2, which recorded 30.5 million views in its first five days earlier this year. Additionally, the film has proven to be a financial triumph, grossing over $1.3 billion worldwide against its $200 million production budget.
However, not all Disney+ users have been celebrating smooth streaming experiences lately. On November 22, viewers watching the Border-Gavaskar Trophy clash between India and Australia encountered widespread disruptions on Disney+ Hotstar. Issues ranged from buffering and freezing to audio-video synchronisation errors, leaving cricket fans frustrated during the high-stakes match.

Social media, particularly X (formerly Twitter), buzzed with complaints as Disney+ Hotstar assured users that it was working to resolve the technical glitches.
Despite these setbacks, “Deadpool & Wolverine” continues to dominate charts, solidifying its place as one of Disney+’s most successful releases.
